How to use the discount calculator

Enter the original price and the discount percentage. If the shop offers an extra discount on top, such as “extra 10% off”, enter it in the second box. Add any flat coupon or cashback in rupees. The calculator shows the price after each step, what you finally pay, how much you save and the real overall discount.

Why “40% + 10%” is not 50% off

An extra discount applies to the already reduced price, not the original one. On a ₹2,499 item, 40% off brings it to ₹1,499. An extra 10% off that price takes it to about ₹1,349. Your total saving is ₹1,150, a real discount of 46%, not 50%. The calculator shows this real discount so you can compare offers honestly.

Comparing two offers

Is “flat 50% off” better than “40% off plus ₹300 cashback”? It depends on the price. On a ₹2,000 item, 50% off saves ₹1,000, while 40% plus ₹300 saves ₹1,100. On a ₹5,000 item, 50% off saves ₹2,500 and the other offer only ₹2,300. Enter each offer in the calculator to see which one saves more on the item you want.

A discount is only meaningful if the original price is real. Compare the final price across a few shops or websites, not just the percentage. Also check delivery charges, convenience fees and whether cashback comes as a voucher with conditions.

How do I calculate an extra discount?

Apply the first discount to the original price, then apply the extra discount to the reduced price. The calculator does both steps for you.

Is 40% plus 10% the same as 50% off?

No. It equals a 46% discount, because the extra 10% is taken from the already discounted price.

Can I add cashback?

Yes. Enter it in the coupon or cashback box and it will be subtracted from the final price.
